ArtData is not showing any results (because of special characters in query result)

I noticed ArtData is not showing any results when special characters like '€' or 'é' are used in the query output (Dynamic Table > SQL).
However, when I use Regular Labs Sourcerer to show the same data (using standard Joomla! db connect options), results will show without any problems. So the problem is not at db level I presume.
How to solve this issue?
