Can a variable be used in the SQL statement for Art Data? e.g. data pulled from DB custom user field in WHERE.

sample SELECT `E_ID` AS 'EC',`Px_ID` AS 'PMS', `Category`,`Product`,`Quantity`, `Delivery_Info`, `PxFirst` AS 'First Name' FROM `_Event` WHERE `Current_Status` = 'Submitted' AND `ECP_ID` = $VAR

If yes - syntax?
