Is there any way for this plugin to work from a hotspot on an image map?

Also, what is the character limit for the title information?

Hello,

We have never tries to work with image map so this is not implemented.

There is no character limit however very long text may simply not feet into title area. You may want to adjust the CSS style for this: pp_description.
